A great example of residents coming together – the sun was shining, the Pimm’s was chilled and the BBQ was lit. Children were having fun on a bouncy castle and the adults were enjoying the opportunity to continue to get to know each other.

Amazing street party with over 100 people lining the streets. Trestle tables set up, lunch being served, with children playing freely in the street. Great atmosphere and some fantastic cake baking!
Kingscroft Avenue
A treat to see residents bring out their BBQs, the bunting was out, the front gardens were full of garden chairs and the residents were getting ready to party when those that were working had finished. Great to see the resident’s and their extended families come together.

The top Close was festooned with decorations and crowded with happy residents enjoying the late afternoon sunshine. The morning downpour didn’t stop residents getting the gazebos out and setting up for a great get together.
Evelyn Road
Watching the kids and adults playing hopscotch bought back memories of childhood. The street was a mass of bunting and even the dogs were all wearing their bandanas and looking the part!
Wingate Road
This was an impromptu stop ..as Cllr. Jones drove to Evelyn Road she saw a group of people sat on the driveway so stopped and said hello; they’d chosen a more informal way to celebrate but nevertheless were having fun together.
The Paddocks
A lovely gathering in a small close with resident’s and their families gathering. A great Chef behind the BBQ is always a bonus!
Penrith Avenue
Despite the drizzle, the residents had decorated the street, set up their gazebos and were enjoying the opportunity to come together for the afternoon with lots of food and games planned.
Highfields Close
Highfields Close had set up the party in two areas – a sit down quiet area for those wanting to enjoy a conversation, and an area that had celebrities and royalty in, a decorated black cab too! It was lovely to see a childhood friend who Cllr. Jones hadn’t seen for many years.
