During the last week, the Mayor has been involved in conversation with a number of local organisations to see how they can help support residents through the cost of living crisis.

An opportunity to meet with the operational manager of the Foodbank provided an update on how they were continuing to help and support those in most need through the giving of food parcels. They have now opened the first distribution centre in Houghton Regis which enables the three in Dunstable to build on their offer. It is hoped that to continue the drive to reduce food waste local distribution centres will in the future be able to offer other items. More to come on that we hope!

A new toy store has arrived in town and opened its doors in The Quadrant on Saturday. The Mayor was pleased to be asked to officially open Cazidore which is a family run business focusing on selling wooden toys for young people of all ages.

Plans for the Mayor’s Civic Service on the 2 April are now underway and more details will be posted in due course, all are welcome to attend.

The Mayor has a busy schedule over the next couple of weeks with her own charity events as well as representing the council and town at some meetings and other local Mayors events.

Tickets are available for her charity lunch on the 5 March, now being held at Kazmicks in The Quadrant at 1.30 pm. Tickets are £27.50 each and main course choices are to be informed at time of booking. Please contact democratic@dunstable.gov.uk if you would like to come.
