Just before I wish you all a happy New Year and look forward to 2025, I wanted to look back at a fantastic 2024 and all that has been achieved here in Dunstable.

2024 saw Dunstable host a number of free events and activites that took place every weekend during the summer months. We saw you dance and sing along to Barrioke at Party in the Park and enjoy Motown at Dunstable Live in Grove Gardens. It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying the live music. Priory Gardens hosted St George’s Day, Around the World, Priory Pictures, Dunstable Classic Motor Rally and Proms in the Park.

Ashton Square and Middle Row Markets came together for a variety of events on The Square which included Ashton Square Day, Young Traders Market, Torchlight and Twilight Markets.   We loved our monthly Street Food Heroes on Thursday evenings with family and friends. Vegan Markets joined Middle Row Market as did local charities and local business. We had more free event markets than ever before during 2024.  The town council worked in Partnership with The Quadrant for Easter events and our big summer event, Dino Day.

The gardens and the town were also blooming this year with Anglia in Bloom, Dunstable won a Gold in Anglia in Bloom. We added water stations to the town centre parks and Ashton Square toilets. New inclusive play equipment was installed Grove House Gardens and new solar benches were installed in 3 town centre locations thanks to the UK Shard Prosperity Fund.

We have big plans for 2025, we want to, do more, achieve more awards and change people’s views on Dunstable. Dunstable is a beautiful town and has so much to offer, so let’s shout about our award-winning town.

I look forward in updating you with all the news on Dunstable during 2025.

 Happy New Year!
