Grove House Gardens

Grove House Gardens is a Green Flag Award winning park, situated in the centre of Dunstable adjacent to the Grove Theatre Complex and the Town Centre.

The Gardens, which are over 200 years old, were originally part of the private gardens of Grove House and today they benefit from the presence of many mature and unusual trees.

The Gardens are an attractive and well maintained open space offering visitors the opportunity to relax in pleasant spring and summer floral surroundings, make use of the play area and wide open grass spaces or just sit and enjoy wildlife. Easily accessed on foot, by cycle, by car and public transport, the Gardens are Dunstable’s premier outdoor entertainment space offering a wide range of music and theatre related performances during the summer months.

Visitors are made to feel welcome and safe with good access to information about the Gardens and its heritage, good lighting, CCTV coverage and a ban on alcohol consumption.

Dunstable Town Council is striving to develop and sustainably manage the gardens by encouraging people to recycle, reducing the future use of peat and water and maintaining high standards of horticultural husbandry. Local people are encouraged to participate in the maintenance and management of the Gardens through healthy activity events and the creation of a Friends of Grove House and Priory Gardens.

The Council is proud of its local heritage and takes great care in ensuring that the Gardens remain an attractive, well managed, safe and sustainable open space for future generations to visit and enjoy.
